Australian core

Horizons, the second album by Australian metalcore band, parkway drive. It comes out with a soulful interlude that sets the melodic and heavy adventure of reaching horizons. I call it Australian core. A genre of chaotic blast beats, shredding fast guitars, deep growls of passion and soul with a wavy beach tone. Filled with one of the best breakdowns, guitar solos and melodies, they have matured with deeper songwriting, yet keeping their root metal sound. Lyrics cover uncertainty, love, oblivion and anger. Winston delivers the concept of being frozen in controlled reactions perfectly.
